I placed a call with Dialer56, answered my Vonage phone and nothing else happened.
Occasionally the Vonage 3rd party calling service exhibits this behavior. This generally clears up after a short while. Please contact Vonage customer support.
Why do I get a “(100) Authentication Failed” error?
This normally happens if you havenʼt entered your Vonage username and password or have entered it incorrectly. If you receive this error after having successfully used Dialer56, then it is likely that the Vonage 3rd party calling service is undergoing maintenance. Either contact Vonage support or try again later.
Where do I get the username and password to use on the settings screen?
This is the username and password that you use to login to www.vonage.com.
Does Dialer56 access my Vonage account?
No. Dialer56 uses the Vonage 3rd party call control service as described at http://www.vonage.com/features.php?feature=developers. This service uses the same username and password as your Vonage account.
What is the “Vonage #” and why is there a separate step to select it?
This is the phone number for your Vonage phone. Vonage allows you to have multiple phone numbers associated with one phone line. Dialer56 uses the 3rd party calling service to retrieve the list of phone numbers for your account. If there is only one, it will automatically be used. Otherwise, you must select one.
How does Dialer56 protect my Vonage account credentials?
Dialer56 stores the Vonage account password in the iPhone keychain. The iPhone keychain is not backed up by iTunes.
